As the interest of the literature on congruity between offline and online stores is relatively recent, empirical evidence is required to help marketing managers choose the most effective ways of contributing to the formation of consistent offerings as well as their contribution to generate customer loyalty. This study examines whether congruity can help to identify segments of heterogeneous consumers that differ significantly regarding these variables as well as other constructs related to the customer relationship with the retailer. The study attempts to identify which congruity attribute(s) are most relevant for differentiating customers by their loyalty towards the online store, so that retailers can design strategies for improving congruity between physical and online stores, and ultimately, increase online store loyalty

The impact of animations in the perception of a simulated crowd

Simulating virtual crowds is an important challenge in many areas such as games and virtual reality applications. A lot of effort has been dedicated to improving pathfinding, collision avoidance, or decision making, to achieve more realistic human-like behavior. However, crowd simulation will be far from appearing realistic as long as virtual humans are limited to walking animations. Including animation variety could greatly enhance the plausibility of the populated environment. In this paper, we evaluated to what extend animation variety can affect the perceived level of realism of a crowd, regardless of the appearance of the virtual agents (bots vs. humanoids). The goal of this study is to provide recommendations for crowd animation and rendering when simulating crowds. Our results show that the perceived realism of the crowd trajectories and animations is significantly higher when using a variety of animations as opposed to simply having locomotion animations, but only if we render realistic humanoids. If we can only render agents as bots, then there is no much gain from having animation variety, in fact, it could potentially lower the perceived quality of the trajectories.Peer ReviewedPostprint (author's final draft

Most of the studies on entrepreneurial intention have been applied in university students under a face-to-face modality. However, it is also important to consider the context of the students in the virtual mode, that is, those students at a distance, so the objective of this study is to identify the most influential factors in the entrepreneurial intention of enrolled psychology university students in virtual mode. For this, a study with a quantitative approach is applied in which the Factorial Analysis statistical technique is used from the application of a survey to 178 psychology students from the Catholic North University Foundation. The convergent and discriminant validity of the proposed model is evaluated from the Theory of Planned Behavior and the Business Event Model, as well as the reliability and contrast of hypotheses. The results allow identifying relevant relationships between attitude, perceived behavior control, entrepreneurial behavior, and current behavior control with respect to the entrepreneurial intention of the surveyed students. Based on these results, it is possible to identify themost influential factors in the entrepreneurial intention of students, which allow strengthening from higher education institutions and universities the academic programs aimed at fostering the entrepreneurial spirit of psychology students in the virtual modality.

Risk management through increased surface run-off in urban areas requires intervention from multiple environmental, public health, social and economic approaches. The green infrastructure provides solutions of growing interest for its environmental benefits and potential financial advantage. This article proposes a technological improvement for the adaptation of green roof to the Andean tropical climate, regarding its hydrological behavior, for which an experimental setup was developed with six modules of extensive green roof and one control module (roofing sheet only). The experimental setup allowed the obtaining twenty-one data precipitation events, modifying the configuration of two experimental factors, plant species with six variations and substrates heights with three variations and three additional events to verify the effect of the roof slope variation as a third factor. The obtained data were processed for the calculation of hydrological variables of interest (precipitation, run-off, duration of the event, previous dry time) expressing event characteristics and the hydrological behavior indicators (runoff coefficients based on volume Cv and peak flow Cp and lagtime K) and their statistical analysis, allowed to identify which experimental factors have or do not have significant influence on these indicators. Finally, tools were developed for the simulation of hydrological variables and indicators from external precipitation series and their implementation in a design tool that selects the green roof configurations that present the best hydrological behavior.

One reason immunotherapy is important for Hepatocellular carcinoma, it’s because there are many immune cells in that organ. Because HCC is very aggressive, immunotherapy must be applied correctly. There are a lot of immunotherapies for all cancers, nevertheless, some has been tested for specific organs or tissues, and probably in the future, this organ-specific treatments can be applied in other tumor tissues.Universidad de Málaga. Enhancing nonlinear interactions by the superposition of plasmonic lattices on ꭕ(2)-nonlinear photonic crystals

Plasmonic structures have been revealed as efficient units to enhance localized nonlinear phenomena generated at dielectric-metal interfaces. However, their effect on the nonlinear interactions provided by quasi-phase matching processes in ꭕ(2) modulated dielectric crystals have been scarcely addressed, mainly due to the complexity in manufacturing appropriate periodic plasmonic structures overlying the ꭕ(2) dielectric structure. Here, by a simple method we have fabricated a periodic structure based on the combination of two commensurate lattices: a periodic lattice of chains of Ag nanoparticles and a periodic lattice of ꭕ(2)-modulation based on a ferroelectric domains structure. The hybrid system supports multiple surface plasmon lattice resonances (SLRs) at the technologically relevant NIR spectral region, which yield the enhancement of the nonlinear diffraction pattern generated by the ꭕ(2) structure. The superposition of the plasmonic and the ꭕ(2)-modulation lattice results in a 20-fold enhancement of the directional SHG due to the excitation of SLRs by the interacting waves involved in the nonlinear process. The results are obtained in lithium niobate, a widely used crystal in optoelectronics, and demonstrate the potential of the approach to design integrated solid-state platforms for on-chip optical steering, multiplexing or quantum technologiesThis work has been supported by the Spanish Government (Contracts MAT2016-76106-R and PID2019-108257GB-I00/ AEI/10.13039/501100011033 and María de Maeztu “Pro gramme for Units of Excellence in R&D CEX2018-000805-M) and Comunidad de Madrid (Grant SI1/PJI/2019-00105
